The ACM Foundation joins CEAR’s petition in which the entity demands that the government not leave migrants or the Canary Islands “isolated” with the migration policies.
“We must find a solution urgently. Measures imposed by the Government have prevented a proper management of this humanitarian disaster in the Canaries; migrant people and asylum seekers are trapped on the Islands, their lives paralised and their fundamental rights being violated”, argued CEAR.
CEAR and signatories are asking the Government to develop a flexible and transparent policy for the fair and equitable redistribution of these people from the Canary Islands to the Peninsula, across all of the Autonomous Communities. We also ask the Government to urge other EU Member States to offer them places outside of Spain.
