Ending impunity for the State of Israel | Statement by the ACM Palestine Circle
Statement by the ACM Circle of Palestine
In front of the new human tragedy unfolding in Palestine characterized by the death of 63 civilians, among them 8 children and more than 2790 wounded victims of bullets of the Israeli occupation army while they were demonstrating peacefully in Gaza, the circle of Palestine of the Mediterranean Citizens’ Assembly Foundation (FACM) calls on the international community to condemn with the utmost firmness this new crime against humanity.
It is essential today to designate those responsible for this conflagration. The United States, through the Trump Administration, must be pinned for its support for the Israeli government’s segregationist and violent policies. The recent move of the US embassy to Jerusalem is another political move of provocation that could only cause new tensions in the region. The reaction of the Israeli government to Palestinian protests is abject and deadly. It follows the Israeli government’s policy of systematic annexation, colonization, isolation, embargo and intimidation.
This has disastrous consequences for the Palestinian population, both in the West Bank and Gaza, where the population is locked up in what can only be called an open-air prison.
History has shown it clearly: the war has never solved anything and it will not solve anything. Salvation will inexorably pass through international law and, above all, by its respect. But for decades Israel has scorned it. Its policy of colonization of the Palestinian territories is thus illegal.
For the Palestine ACM Circle, it is time for cease the impunity of the State of Israel. The international community, in particular the European Union and the United Nations, must condemn and, above all, put an end to Israel’s policy of aggression and occupation in the Palestinian territories and recognize the existence of the State of Palestine as soon as posible, comply with international law.

Ramadan begins for 300 million Muslims in the Mediterranean
Today begins Ramadan for almost two billion Muslims around the world, 300 million in the Mediterranean and close two million in Spain. It is considered a holy month in which the Koran was revealed. According to Islamic legislation: “Fasting is a religious duty for every adult person, healthy, with judgment and not traveling; be man or woman. And it is exempt from fasting every person under age, sick (physical or mental), who is traveling; as well as the woman within the period of the menstruation or puerperium, as well as the one who is pregnant or breastfeeding who fears for the health of her baby and also the weak elderly are exempt”. A month of mercy, reflection, forgiveness and good. The ACM Foundation sends its congratulations to Muslims from all over the world and especially in the Mediterranean. Ramadan Karim.

Oil, banks, and governance: Economic realities in a divided Libya
Authors: Dr Barah Mikaïl and Simon Engelkes∗
Despite limited improvements, the Libyan economy still lingers well below its potential, obstructed by continuing violent conflict and political uncertainty. Libya’s poor economic performance is evident in the numbers, and it is rendered even more obvious by the population’s claims. Many efforts – including specific policies and economic orientations – have been developed by Libya’s political authorities, in the East and in the West, to try and limit the effects of economic problems on the society. However, results remain limited so far.
Mostra Viva del Mediterrani and Mostra de València join forces for a Mediterranean October
The citizen association meets with the recently appointed direction of the Film Festival to coordinate the work of both entities.
The municipal entity will assume the organization of the Film Festival and the civic entity will continue offering activities of music, dance, literature, street art, visual arts, debates and educational action.
