Meeting at Casa Árabe Madrid on the occasion of the initiative “2021, year of the Arabic language” promoted by CIHAR, the Hispano-Arab Intercultural Circle. The ACM Foundation has adhered to the initiaive. The purpose of this meeting, held on March 16, 2021, was to outline some actions of the celebration and was attended by the Ambassador of the Arab League: Mr. Bachar Yagi; the General Director of Casa Árabe: Mr. Pedro Martínez-Avial; the Casa Árabe Training and Economy Coordinator: Ms. Olivia Orozco (moderator of the event); the President of CIHAR: Mr. Abdo Tounsi; the Director of the Department of Arab and Islamic Studies UAM: Mr. Ignacio Gutiérrez de Terán; the Secretary of the Department of Arab and Islamic Studies UNAM. Mrs. Marta Garcia. The ACM Foundation President, Mr. Vicent Garcés Ramón attended telematically; the ACM Foundation Head of Direction and Communication, Ms. Esma Kucukalic; the Head of Multilingualism and Multiculturalism, Univ. de Comillas: Ms. Nadia Rodríguez and the Deputy to the Presidency of CIHAR: Ms. Hanan Saleh.
The meeting made it possible to exchange proposals between the participating entities and define the calendar of activities on the occasion of the initiative. The objective of the initiative “2021, year of the Arabic language” aims to join forces of the university departments and study centers of this language, as well as institutions and social entities, in order to carry out activities and disseminate it to publicize the scope of the Arabic language, a language that for ten centuries was the language of the world for all fields of life, sociocultural, scientific, economic, among others.
