MCAF is preparing its IX meeting: “FROM A DIVIDED MEDITERRANEAN TO A SHARED MEDITERRANEAN: A DECADE OF CITIZENSHIP RESISTANCE”
The MCAF organises in the city in València, between the 11th and the 14th of November 2021 its IX Meeting.
In this occasion we will reflect together on the topics which will take stock of the phenomenon of the “Mediterranean springs” and its attempt to evolve towards fairer, more democratic, sustainable and cohesive societies. We will also examine the new perspectives imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic to the economies and the societies.
The event will offer a space for dialogue, reflection and proposal to institutions and citizens coming to Valencia from all countries of the region. The format of the meeting will be semi-present (physical and online) and will use digital technologies to exchange between all shores of the Mediterranean.
The MCAF which has a partnership convention with the University of València, will organize the meeting at the Social Sciences Faculty and has the institutional support of the Parliamentarian Assembly of the Mediterranean, the Generalitat Valenciana. València will host the first edition of SocialMed: I Mediterranean Humans Rights Festival
The Mediterranean Human Rights Festival pays special attention to cinema and artistic creation in relation to social themes linked geographically and culturally to the Mediterranean Sea.
It is a proposal from the València city council and the MCA Foundation alongside MedCités / MedCities, the network that coordinates more than 60 Mediterranean cities, EuromedRights and the Institute of Rights Humans from the University of València and other entities.
The president of the FACM declared that “the Festival is born thanks to the will of cooperation between the civil society, the citizenship and the Town hall, which confers it a great legitimacy”.
THE SOCIETAT RENAIXEMENT MUSICAL DE VINALESA CLOSES MOSTRA VIVA DEL MEDITERRANI WITH TRIBUTES TO BERLANGA AND THEODORAKIS
Mostra Viva has once again fulfilled in this edition its objective of being a reflection of the cultures of the Mediterranean and, above all, a meeting point and union of the peoples united by the cultural and social tradition of its two shores. The multicultural festival will shortly announce this year’s winners of the Pont del Mediterrani awards, which recognize the social and cultural work of the winners.
Mostra Viva this year had the participation of artists from thirteen countries and has offered a range of proposals from all cultural and artistic genres.
LA SOCIETAT RENAIXEMENT MUSICAL DE VINALESA CIERRA MOSTRA VIVA Y HOMENAJEA A BERLANGA Y THEODORAKIS
La sociedad musical ofrece este martes por la mañana en el Centre del Carme de Valencia un concierto con música tradicional valenciana
Valencia, 11 de octubre. La música de banda vuelve a poner un año más el broche de oro a una nueva edición de Mostra Viva del Mediterrani, el encuentro cultural multidisciplinar que ha convertido a Valencia de nuevo en la capital cultural del Mediterráneo.
En esta ocasión será de la mano de la Societat Renaixement Musical de Vinalesa que actuará el 12 de octubre en el claustro gótico del Centre del Carme de Valencia a partir de las 12 de la mañana. Allí interpretará un programa compuesto por piezas del folclore popular valenciano, así como de otros países del ámbito del Mare Nostrum como Grecia o Italia. También recordará a dos grandes figuras culturales contemporáneas, como son el cineasta Luis García Berlanga, de quien se cumple el centenario de su nacimiento y tuvo una estrecha relación con el festival, y el compositor griego Mikis Theodorakis, fallecido recientemente, uno de los referentes de la música popular helena y autor entre otras de la banda sonora de la película “Zorba el Griego”.
Aunque la música dará vida a este homenaje, la jornada también ofrecerá por la tarde y en el Parque Central las dos últimas actuaciones del ciclo Arts de Carrer, protagonizadas por las compañías Spinish Circo con su espectáculo “Peus Dalt”, un montaje de circo, teatro y movimiento, y Dinamic con su propuesta “Kibbo”, un mágico viaje a los sueños y la fantasía lleno de personajes fantásticos. Ambos espectáculos se ofrecerán durante la tarde del martes con entrada gratuita.
La Societat Renaixement Musical de Vinalesa despedirá simbólicamente el ciclo cultural Mostra Viva del Mediterrani aportando además la música recogida en su último disco titulado “Mediterranies”, que aúna la música de banda con composiciones vinculadas al folclore más tradicional como fandangos, albaes y danzas. La Sociedad está compuesta por 62 músicos en la banda y 46 personas en la Coral. Asimismo, la escuela de música “Mestre Esteban Esteve” tiene matriculados a 83 niños y niñas que disfrutan aprendiendo.
Además, la que era llamada “Unió Musical” en sus inicios, ahora cuenta con más de sesenta años de historia a sus espaldas. Es un colectivo interesado en la recuperación de la música tradicional valenciana y la música de banda, cuenta con una sólida solvencia y trayectoria artística. En la actualidad está dirigida por Ángel Gimeno Quiles.
Mostra Viva ha vuelto a cumplir en esta edición son su objetivo de ser reflejo de las culturas del Mediterráneo y, sobre todo, punto de encuentro y unión de los pueblos unidos por la tradición cultural y social de sus dos orillas. El festival multicultural dará a conocer en breve a los galardonados este año con los premios Pont del Mediterrani que reconocen la labor social y cultural de los premiados.
Mostra Viva ha contado este año con la participación de artistas de trece países y ha ofrecido un abanico de propuestas de todos los géneros culturales y artísticos.
