Meetings are places for dialogue between citizens where everyone speaks freely while respecting the rules of mutual listening. They should allow to build a common reflection on the issues and challenges facing the Mediterranean area and define the axes of reflection and action for the future but also deepen the theoretical concepts and themes. They must also allow to enhance the dynamics of the ACM.

Les activités de l’Association “Peripli. Culture e Società Euromediterranee” sont organisées et réalisées en collaboration avec le Cercle de Naples de la Fondation Assemblée des citoyennes et citoyens de la Méditerranée avec son siège en Espagne, à Valencia.
El Institut Valencià d’Art Modern (IVAM) celebró los días 22 y 23 de septiembre, el congreso ‘Imaginar el Mediterráneo’, que contó con la colaboración de la la Fundación Asamblea de Ciudadanos y Ciudadanas del Mediterráneo (FACM), Universitat de València, la Universitat Politécnica de València, la Universidad Miguel Hernández de Elche, el Institut Français de València, el Instituto Europeo del Mediterráneo (IEMed).
The Mediterranean Citizens’ Assembly Foundation (FACM) and the Euro-Mediterranean University EMUNI have signed an agreement in order to coopearte in priority projects in the Euro-Med region, especially in the field of higher education. Both institutions have as one of their fundamental lines of action the promotion of the education and training of youth in the region, encouraging the understanding among people and focusing on the diversity.
Una de las líneas fundamentales de trabajo del IVAM en estos tres últimos años es el sólido deseo de ver, conocer, construir y desarrollar nuevas narraciones acerca de las relaciones sociales, culturales, artísticas, e, incluso, personales y/o afectivas entre los diferentes países que componen el área del Mediterráneo. Es un proyecto que tuvo su inicio público en el año 2016 con la exposición Entre el mito y el espanto: el Mediterráneo como conflicto, complementada con un conjunto de actividades culturales entre las que destacó el seminario realizado ese mismo año con el título El mito: la furia de los dioses y la armonía del paisaje. Esta es una línea de intervención básica del museo con la que pretendemos subrayar su propia personalidad, así como un símbolo distintivo de sus preocupaciones e intereses.

IMAGINING THE MEDITERRANEAN CONGRESS

Imagining the Mediterranean congress emerges with the aim of building and developing new narratives and structures in the XXI century with past times in mind. For this, a deepening of the different areas relatad to this cultural and artistic space is proposed, based on the presence of diverse theoretical and artistic profiles from different geographies.
A Round Table discussion took place today in Ljubljana, where high-level speakers discussed how Slovenia could capitalize on its Mediterranean identity and position itself in the region so as to enhance its political and economic development. The gap between Slovenia’s actual and perceived belongingness to the Mediterranean region was discussed as well as how Slovenia, and other countries from the Mediterranean, could benefit from a clearer strategy and a concrete approach to addressing common concerns and challenges towards peace, security and stability in the region.

On September 1, Lola Bañon Castellón has taken over as Director of the Mediterranean Citizens`Assembly Foundation (FACM). Bañon is Doctor in Communication, professor of journalism at the Universitat de València, journalist and analyst specialized in the Middle East, and the Mediterranean.

Le 17 août 2017, l’Espagne qui était épargnée jusque là par les attentats qui endeuillent l’Europe depuis plus de deux ans, n’a pas échappé à une certaine forme de destin commun. Pourquoi, ce pays, qui n’avait pas connu de violents attentats liés à l’islamisme violent sur son sol depuis les terribles attentats de Madrid à la gare d’Atocha en 2004 sur les trains de banlieue faisant 191 morts, est de nouveau touché en son coeur touristique, Barcelone? Quelques pistes de réflexion peuvent être évoquées sans être à ce jour définitives, et tant que l’enquête n’aura pas porté l’ensemble de ses fruits.
