The FACM attends the 10th ARLEM (Local and Regional Euro-Mediterranean Assembly) Plenary in Seville (26-27.02.2019)
At the meeting, the role of municipalities and regions in migration policies has been underlined, especially the need to increase and improve the participation of institutions that are closer to civil society, both in the definition and in the management of those policies. In this reflection, the representatives of several Euro-Mediterranean public entities begged at the same time for a better and more decentralized management of the economic resources destined to these policies.
The MCA Foundation has presented and promoted among the participants of the meeting its commitment to the Euro-Mediterranean movement of solidarity with people in situation of exile, project that the MCAF develops together with their partners AMEL International (Lebanon) and Samu Social International (France).
There has been broad agreement on the need to apply policies regulators of migratory flows with full attention and respect for Human Rights. The meeting was also the occasion to exchange information about the action plans of the MedCités network in which the MCA Foundation is an observer member.
